I see your work.

I see it in the smile on your kid’s face.

I see it in their full tummy.

I see it in their neatly pressed school uniform.

I see it in the self-style they choose to don and you encourage.

I see it when they use their manners and say please and thank you.

I see it on the ball field and in their sportsmanship.

I see it at lunchtime and on the playground.

I see at play dates and parties.

I see it when their sitting at their school desk.

I see it in their test scores.

I see it in their sense of self worth outside of those scores.

I see it when they are social.

I see it when they recognize and honor moments that benefit from their reservedness.

I see it when they talk to adults.

I see it in how they look at the elderly.

I see it all the time.

I see it everywhere.

I see your work.

You child is covered in it.

And though you don’t always see it,

you better believe others do.

It’s not the kind of work that wins you any awards or a crapton of praise, and, really it’s the kind work that often leaves you feeling

drained,

confused even,

and under qualified.

But let me make this perfectly clear —

no one is more fit for this role,

and that work that you do,

it’s seen and the world thanks you for it; for bringing up good people who are only gonna make it better.
