I want to be that friend.

The one you can call on, anytime, no matter what.

I want to be that friend.

The one you know better than to call, so you text.

I want to be that friend that can read your facial expressions.

I want to be that friend that can speak your emoji lingo.

I want to be that friend that sits with you in silence, comfortably.

I want to be that friend who knows your secrets.

I want to be that friend who shares mine.

I want to be the friend you don't clean up for.

I want to be the friend that helps you with the laundry.

I want to be the friend that loves your kids.

I want to be the friend whose kids you love.

And, most of all, I want to be the friend that

encourages,

motivates,

supports,

helps,

inspires,

and entertains.

I want to be the friend that feels

encouraged

motivated,

supported,

helped,

inspired,

and entertained.

But, here's the thing --

I'll never be that friend if I don't let you in.

Closer.

Closer.

Even closer.

Yep.

There.

That's where you find the foundation of true friendship.

That's where non-judgment, authentic connection and unconditional backing live with ease.

I want to be that friend, but friendship requires work.

I want to be that friend, but I'm not sure I have much time or attention left to give anyone outside of my family.

I want to be that friend that feels like family.

I want to be that friend, but I've got to scrounge up the energy.

I want to be that friend because I need friendship.

I want to be that friend because so do you.

I want to be that friend, so let's give this a try.

I want to be that friend, so let's start with

coffee,

complaints,

and dreams,

and go from there.

I want to be that friend.

And, if you do too, then, well,
