Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

What if I told you that you need to stop adding to your cart?

The Amazon one and the mental one.

If you're anything like me, you love to overload both carts with crap you don't need like yet another pair of high-waisted black leggings and unrealistic expectations.

What if today, and every day that follows, we wake up and empty the fudgin' cart?

And what if we tell ourselves that on this and every day, there's only space in said cart for

those we love,

self-love,

kindness,

pauses,

and acceptance -- of moments, results, and people.

I'm not ready to check out.

I'm not ready to accept that I'm stuck in a cycle of wanting more from my life, myself, or others.

I'm not ready to pay for a seemingly "perfect" life with ever-present anxiety, guilt and the sense that this life, my loved ones and I aren't enough "as-is."

It behooves me and all of us to work on ourselves continuously, and so, yes, let’s keep doing that.

BUT, adding to our cart, on the regular, anything less than unconditional compassion, appreciation and gratitude can’t happen anymore.

I'm taking charge of how I spend my life and who and what I spend it on.
