Hey old moms! Cheers to us!
It took so much for us to get here. We’ve raised kids and buried pets. We’ve raised gardens and buried parents. We’ve changed careers and sacrificed them for our children.
We are amazing!
We are not at the bottom of the pack.
No!
We are scheduler shufflers and people who bring chicken soup to everyone. We don’t have time to be sick because someone else already is!
We can multitask and clean vomit and iron clothes with a hair straightener. We know how to make homemade coffee cake and compliment the boss, just enough.. not too much.
We know what we drink and we don’t need a chaser or a mix in. No!
Give me that neat or straight and when does karaoke start?
We’ve been there. Done that! Yes! I can get stains out of a jersey!
Need a last minute pot luck recipe but don’t want to cook? You’ve come to the right person!
We can do it all, and we have.
I’m proud of the life I have lived. I’m proud of what I’ve learned among the way, and listen, I’ve had some hard lessons!
I’m not cool! I don’t know teen slang. My kids think I was born in 1950, Gen X, thank you very much!
But I know one thing. These lines on my face, this pain in my hip cause I put on my pants weird today, they are warrior scares!
Of time lived! Of time learned! And oh how I have loved this wild ride!
And I’m not done! Not even close.
So the next time you 20 somethings see an old lady and think she’s insignificant, shes old.
Let me tell you-she’s got more life experience , know how and don’t give a crap than you have yet earned.
Don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.
But you’ll get here too one day my pretties. You’ll get here too!
