Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

I’ve not given up on clean. Or efficient. Or nice.

But I’ve given up on perfect.

I’d rather my home, my shoes, my comfy size be well worn instead of just shown off.

I’d rather have crumbs to sweep up again and again if it means having bellies to fill and souls to nourish.

And give me that mess of Play-Doh and all the LEGOS if it means my kids are creating and having fun and proud of what they’ve accomplished.

They’ll know Mommy is proud, too.

I’m fine with sweats and ponytails and running into friends without makeup on. And hearing my name echo on repeat because there’s just one of me.

I’ve accepted I can’t always give my full attention, but I’ll give each of them my best. And even though they’re my world, they’ll know this world doesn’t revolve around them.

I’m okay dealing with push-back and discipline, because they see I’m nowhere near perfect and apologies go a long, long way.

And grace.

The imperfect affirms God is our strength when we’re trembling weak.

Amazing grace.

So, I’ll take the whole glorious mess of it, because a life well-lived is worth it.

I’ve given up on perfect.
