As a mother of 2, I was in search of a way to have my young children involved in giving back to the community. I wasn't able to find much given the age restrictions of most volunteer opportunities. Instead of giving up, as I feel strongly about raising my children to appreciate the need to be kind to others, I set up Little Loving Hands.
Little Loving Hands provides pre-packaged children craft kits on a MONTHLY basis where the final craft is donated back to an organization in need and used to support a worthy cause. Our mission is to provide a fun and educational method for parents and caretakers to engage children in learning about the importance of being kind and giving back to others which is a direct response to Today's challenge. Within each kit, children will receive not only the materials for the project, but also educational literature and other fun items to reinforce what the children are working on and how they are helping others. We know that parents are busy (I certainly am!) and the hope is that these kits provide a way everything a caretaker needs to engage on a regular basis with their children to support and learn about organizations in need while having some fun doing it. Our site has more information: www.littlelovinghands.com and we even made a fun short video that talks more about what we do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfeTTfiutYc
Here are some photos of children engaging in our activities! Each have responded with absolute joy in knowing the fact that they have helped others!
