Your kid’s birthday is around the corner and you are already turning and tossing in bed with anticipation and anxiety. After all, he has waited all year long for his big day and you want to make it one of the best ever, don’t you? Well, until a few weeks ago, I was doing the same and trying to figure out ways to do something creative for him and his friends. I also wanted to involve the kids and didn’t want to have them just sprinting around the decorations. The good part was that I had vaguest of the feeling what I wanted to do. The bad part was that I had tried and applied it all. I had planned Mickey Mouse theme party, Lego-themed birthday, camping birthday and game-based party already! I had exhausted every idea I could think of.
Then one fine day, my husband bought me fresh flower bouquet from NizamFlorist! He might have figured out that I was in stress. It did me twice the good. I got easy on him and moreover, I got a wonderful idea for my little prince’s birthday! I decided to throw a flower-themed party for him and given his interest in blooms and greenery, I could spend some quality time with him as well as involve him.

We took handcrafted notes and my son drew cartoons. After this, I pasted a single bud on each note. All in all, we managed to send out some really cute and personal invitations to our equally cute and beloved guests.

When it came to décor, my mind was brimming with ideas! Since my guest list comprised very naughty guests, petal-lined entrance and flower somewhere within their reach was completely out of question. Instead, I opted for hanging flower photo frames via SiliconFlorist from Bangalore, to put photos of my family and son. I gave my garden a colorful twist as the cycle of my older daughter doubled up as planter. Marigolds and daisies were hung on the entrance ways. The usual accompaniments of birthday such as balloons and soft toys marked the occasion too but the real showstoppers were certainly flowers!
Fun-filled Activities:
The photographer took photos of kids in flower booth and no wonder it was a super-hit among kids and moms. We also arranged for flower pot painting and tissue paper flower kit. My garden was covered with tissue papers in the end and my family had hard time picking them up but it was all worth it! Beautiful lilac buds and black board adorned every table. Guests were asked to write their blessings and messages for my kid on the board, which lend a cutesy and sentimental touch to the entire decoration.
Flower Desserts:

From flower cake to flower-shaped muffins and candies, we literally had overdose of flowers and all-things spring but without getting overwhelm by it! The snacks were served in wicker baskets and fruit juice were served in mason jars for adults. For kids, it was the usual plastic cups.
Knick-knacks for guests:
Little girls played goddesses in flower tiaras and net butterfly wings whereas boys looked oh-so-adorable in tiny floral bracelets. Adults wore little garlands in their neck. They were handed little clay pots with flower seeds as a souvenir whereas kids got flower-shaped cookies in gift basket.
To say, it was the best birthday ever, is an understatement. My kid enjoyed thoroughly! While I managed to surprise him with the arrangement, I quite pulled his attention towards nature too! Mission accomplished! J
