Life Lessons About Money

I recently told my five-year-old a story about money.

I am not sure why I remember this story so well but it is always something I will never forget. I was six years old and my mom gave me $5 to go to the store and buy breakfast for my two sisters.

I went to the corner convenience store to buy some donuts but there was something else that caught my eye. It was a large arcade video game, called Bubble Bobble.

I spent almost all of the money my mom gave me playing that game. I came back with a pastry for a strawberry shortcake filling. But my mom was so sad that I misbehaved that she began to cry, and I will never forget it. I think it kept me from misusing money for the rest of my life.
