We’re at that point in the dreaded year of 2020, where everybody is looking back on their year and evaluating how good or bad it was. While 2020 was likely a less than ideal year for almost everybody, there were definitely some positives to come out of it as well.
When looking back on my own personal year, I thought about what my most used phrase was. Little strange, but for some reason it just popped in my head.
By far, my most used phrase?
“I don’t have time.”
I think it say it once daily, if not more.
In a year like 2020, I have literally learned NOTHING, apparently. In a year where so many have lost so much, I still find myself saying I don’t have time. No time for date night, no time for self care, and hardly any time to stop what I’m doing and play with my toddler.

I sit here on maternity leave, as the year comes to and end, and I still just don’t have time. No time for the holiday hustle and bustle, and no time to enjoy my leave with my family.
If 2020 has taught us anything at all, it’s that life never stops. For anybody. On your very best and your very worst days, it all goes on.
So.. make time. To take care of yourself. To play with your kids. To go have a date night.
Try finding a way to enjoy the crazy hustle and bustle of the holidays. Whatever you do, don’t just let time slip away. Make time.
