Mamas! Make today the day you stop the criticism… stop the judgement.
I know it’s so easy to get swept away in how others parent. I’m guilty too! And on social media you can criticize without anything more than clicking SEND. No repercussion. No response. You can send hurt and hate to a stranger or a second cousin with the click of a button.
Please take a step back. Please remember the faces on your social media feed have hearts, and feelings, and families. We are all in this together!
I don’t know a single mom who isn’t doing her very best. Not ONE! Do you? Do you actually know someone who doesn’t want the best for her children and isn’t trying?
I see it on my Facebook. I see it on Instagram. We post pictures of our day to day lives and we are criticized for opening ourselves up to the world, or even just to our family and friends. This is why people deactivate their accounts, friends! This is why people don’t share.
Please, please think before you make fun of that momma’s unbrushed hair. The kids with food on their faces or snacking on food you wouldn’t encourage for your kids.
Today I’m going to try to embrace other parents’ journeys, without the judgement. Without the ugly voice in my head that wants to think I’m doing it better. Or I’m stronger. Or I’m more successful.
NO!
We are all living our own lives. We are all doing it the best we can. I am grateful for you and your story and I hope you are of mine too. But if you aren’t?
Well, you know what mama always said to do when you don’t have something nice to say…
Keep it to yourself. Log off. Give others grace. And be grateful we live in a place and time where we all are trying so hard.
