Marriage only works if you do.

And that sucks, right?

Not marriage (of course)

but the fact that,

after a long day of work that pays the bills,

you've got to do more work to keep that someone in your life, that is possibly the reason for your high-a** bills

...like your wife.

Marriage only works if you do, but without a doubt, the same goes for her.

She, too, has to put in that

all day,

everyday,

play-making,

team-building kind of effort.

Because, if both of you don't,

your partnership won't be successful,

and it sure as heck won't last.

Speaking of last, sometimes you're going to come in last, and so are your needs, especially if/when you have children, and that, well, it's something that you must come to terms with.

You see, when it comes to marriage, sometimes you've got to lose to win.

Lose your vanity,

your selfishness,

your propensities towards being critical.

Lose your attitude,

your solitude,

your grandiose expectations.

Marriage is a shiitake ton of work,

work of the heart and the head,

but it is without a doubt the work which will produce the biggest reward

-- a relationship built and sustained on

unselfishness,

compassion,

persistence,

and the intention to labor in all kinds of ways for your love.

Marriage only works if you do, so get to work.
