Have you been working too hard lately?
Me too.
Have you felt completely unproductive?
Me too.
Have you cooked more meals than you ever thought humanly possible?
Me too.
Have you been ordering a crapton of takeout?
Me too.
Have you been busting your arse?
Me too.
Have you been sitting in your arse?
Me too.
Have you been multitasking?
Me too.
Have you been not tasking?
Me too.
Have you been making weekly to-do lists?
Me too.
Have you been completely disregarding them day after day?
Me too.
Have you been watching a lot of news?
Me too.
Have you been avoiding the news?
Me too.
Have you been finding that you enjoy some things about your new routine?
Me too.
Have you been mourning your old one?
Me too.
Have you stepped up your parenting game lately?
Me too.
Have you been losing that game and yelling about it?
Me too.
Have you offered more grace to your spouse lately?
Me too.
Have you been fighting with yours more?
Me too.
Have you been missing your family?
Me too.
Have you been missing the gym?
Me too.
Have you been comfort snacking?
Me too.
Have you been
hoping,
wishing,
and praying
that this dang pandemic would just up and dismiss itself from our lives, leaving them to be lived, in the ways we so choose,
connected,
and connecting,
on purpose,
to support,
empathize with,
and love one another?
Me too.
Have you come to accept that, at present, that is still what we are doing,
from inside our homes,
from 6ft away,
online,
or as we
help bag groceries,
treat patients,
deliver Shipt and Instacart orders,
sew masks,
petition our government on behalf of healthcare workers,
or express verbal or written thanks for and to all essential workers?
Me too.
I say this all just say that, now, more than ever and in this seemingly everlasting, Groundhog Day-like moment, I think it’s helpful to tell
someone,
anyone,
everyone,
“Yeah, me too.”
