(I am the grandmother of our little miracles and my son gave me permission to write this because they are way too busy with the twins and jobs and school!!)

Duncan Harp and his fiance, Julie Johnson found out they were having identical twins April 17, 2017.

Everything was progessing normally with no problems until they were 18 weeks into the pregnancy and Julie's body tried to go into labor. With the help of wonderful doctors the labor stopped for awhile. Doctors said sewing the uterus only worked with one baby, but they said they could try it with two babies or they would lose them!! So their only choice was to sew the uterus and hope for a miracle.

Julie was told if she could keep the babies in 24 weeks they would be viable - 28 weeks more preferable and 30 weeks would be best.

Julie made it to 281/2 weeks and on September 2, 2016, the babies were ready to come out to the big wide world! Abbey Grace was 1st out at 2lbs 6oz and 10" long. Scarlette Faith was stuck under Julie's ribs but she was delivered (both by c-section) 21/2 minutes later at 2lbs10oz, 14"long.

They were born at Woman and Infants Hospital in Providence, RI, with a superior NICU unit with great doctors and fabulous nurses.

One week later little Abbey's body was shutting down and 15 doctors worked on her and she pulled through. Everyday was a scary process of ups and downs, but Abbey and Scarlette fought hard to survive with progresses in grams and inches.

At 2 months they both received their shots and poor little Abbey almost died but pulled through again with the aid of wonderful doctors and nurses.

They were in the NICU for 3 months. Finally, November 16 Scarlette got to go home before Thanksgiving at 7lbs8oz- 21"long. Abbey got to come home November 27 at 7lbs30z-18"long.

Both babies are truly little miracles and are thriving, happy and healthy now. They are crawling and babbling and progressing like normal babies.

Duncan and Julie will be married this coming May 26, and the little twins should be toddling down the aisle. They have all been truely blessed.

Duncan is currently pursuing a business degree and managing a Petco Store in Providence. Julie works, part-time, as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Julie and Duncan did a March of Dimes fund raiser with the girls last summer and are so thankful for all the help they have received from the March of Dimes.
