I had no idea when I left for work the morning of January 5th, that I would be delivering my baby that evening. You can say I had the shortest pregnancy ever....here’s my story... at 39 years old, me and my husband weren’t trying to have a baby but we weren’t preventing it either. I had a miscarriage about 6 months prior and had never stopped bleeding. When I went to the doctor for yet another check up, and to figure out why I was still bleeding so much, the doctor put his hand on my tummy and said hit feels like there is a baby in there. I was it total shock because I had no pregnancy symptoms and had been bleeding so much! Turns out I was 18 weeks along! Just as the good news settled with me and my husband and we told our families, 11 weeks later my water broke. My baby had kicked his foot through my cervix and I had to have an emergency C-section. While attempting to deliver ham, there were complications and they had to also give me an emergency hysterectomy because my uterus was beyond repair. I delivered a healthy 29 week baby boy weighing 2 lbs. 11 oz. I was immediately taken to the NICU where we would then spend the next 73 days. My baby is now 10 months, 7 adjusted doing very well. I am so very thankful to the nurses and doctors that take care of us I’m the NICU. They truly are angels!
