With all the talk I’ve heard about scooters in recent months, I never really thought about the option of actually seeing myself on one. And yet here I am, with a brand new scooter in front of me, thanks to my husband who’s decided to surprise me for my birthday. I can’t say it’s exactly what I expected, but at the same time, I’ve been giving the idea much thought, and I’ve been warming up to it quite nicely. Sure, I haven’t really thought much about riding a scooter before, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea for me in general!

It Came Out of Nowhere

As I said, this was a pretty big surprise for me, all things considered. My husband never gave me any indication that he was planning this, or that he even had it on his mind to get a scooter today. To be fair, he’s generally pretty good at keeping secrets, especially surprises, until the last minute, so it makes sense to me that I was caught completely off-guard. And yet, this was something special even by his standards. I never really thought that he was going in this direction, and he never really hinted about it in any way.

What Am I Going to Do with It?

I’m still thinking about how I’m going to actually use this in my daily life. I can’t say I’ve been giving this any thought before, and it’s not exactly something you can plan around that easily if you have never used one in the past. That said, I already have some ideas about what I’m going to do with my new scooter, and I think it’s going to make the perfect addition to my daily routine. Going shopping for small things might become much simpler and more convenient when I’ve got this by my side, and I’m curious to see how much it’s going to simplify my routine once I get used to it.

Keeping My New Ride Protected

I’ve also learned a thing or two about keeping my scooter safe, because as it turns out, these things are quite popular and it’s pretty risky to leave it outside unattended. There are lots of options on the market, as I’ve found out, and I’m still exploring what I can do to ensure that my scooter stays safe. Hopefully I won’t run into any serious issues in this regard, because I’ve been doing a pretty good job keeping it secure so far, all things considered.

Even though this is not the exact present I had in mind for this year, I’m not disappointed in the slightest. I can already see the huge possibilities that a scooter affords me, and I’m excited to keep taking it out for a ride every day. It’s something that will change my life for the better, and I can already sense that. I just hope that I will manage to integrate it into my routine for good, instead of eventually giving up on it.
