Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

My kid doesn’t have to be the smartest kid.

Or the most popular kid.

Or the kid who racks up the most points for the team.

He doesn’t have to earn the top spot.

Or the lead role.

Or get it all right the very first try.

My kid can fall. He’ll learn to get up.

And he can cry. And release those big feelings from deep inside.

Instead of charm, I pray he chooses kindness.

Instead of pursuing power, I pray he chooses humility and to serve.

And realize no title this world might offer
compares to being known as Beloved by the God who created us.

He is a child who is fought for.

He is valued.

Strong.

Brave.

So instead of smarts, I pray he pursues Godly wisdom.

Instead of popularity, he’ll put others first.

And replace expectations with gratitude.

And trade fear in for confidence and trust.

Because the world is sure to pressure and disappoint him.

But if he’ll just remember what he’s been taught from the start.

God and mama are always for him.

No matter what.
