My kids are spoiled but not rotten.

I am the mother that doesn’t let them cry.

I am the mother that runs to them right when they fall, lending a helping hand with a hug and kiss if they need.

I am the mother that lets them eat junk food once a day, sometimes more.

I am the mother that often gives in.

I am the mother that buys them new toys and sometimes “just because.”

I am the mother that gives them iPads to play with probably too often.

I am the mother that has redefined “too much” to suit our family.

My kids are spoiled but not rotten.

I am the mother that won’t accept anything but kindness.

I am the mother that makes sure manners are used.

I am the mother that makes sure they share.

I am the mother that won’t accept bad behavior.

I am the mother that has firm limits.

I am the mother that will make sure my kids appreciate what they have.

My kids are spoiled but not rotten.

Because I spoil them with love, and the love I have to give isn’t textbook—

but I won’t let my kids be brats.
