Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

My girls were talking about memories of things they did when they were little. One of them made the comment, “Those were the good days!” While the other agreed.

It made me stop and think about what really makes the “good days,” good days.

Because the memories they were talking about weren’t expensive trips, big parties, or getting things. They were memories of hanging out with their cousins, being with their family, just every day life - that probably in those moments, they wouldn’t have thought were the “good days.”

I look back at those moments too, and remember good times. Times when everyone was together. Times when teenagers were little kids.

And I realize that THIS moment I’m living in right now, will be a time I look back on and say, “Those were the good days!”

I want to be thankful for everyone I have in my life TODAY.

I want to be thankful for my health and the health of my family TODAY.

I want to be thankful for the freedoms I have TODAY.

I want to be aware that I’m living in the good days right now.

It doesn’t mean there’s not hard things going on.

Or I won’t have hard days.

It just means that I choose to be thankful and choose joy in every moment so that no matter what season I’m in I can say, “These are the good days!”

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:16-18
