Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

Organizing was easy before babies. When Summer came, I was young & freeeeee to happily bathing-suit shop in Miami, sip Mojitos before they were a cool thing, & take naps on the roof of the Delano. Summers were a light and easy feeling. Travel light. Eat less. Wear less. Worry less. Everything gets the option to float away..

In June, I’d take my time packing away my Winter wardrobe and all that went along with it. Purged the fridge to make room for Coronas & ceviche from the fish market. Put away my long heavy robes & swapped them for my short silky kimono. I always enjoyed carrying boxes out to the garage and feeling “cleansed”. To me, that cleansing process kicked off Summer by embodying exactly what it’s all about.

Sweet Freedom.

Now for the part of the story that involves having kids. For parents, we accumulate more crap that fathomable. Right? Aren’t you just awestruck at how full the toy closet is, and the garage, and the bin after bin after colorful bin? The last thing we ever expect is that we could possibly accumulate even more stuff on top of all that baby junk. Bu t lo and behold, when your tot starts school you’ll be shocked at your ability to collect even more. (See those cherubs above? They're little craft-making-doodling-finger-painting machines.)

I implore you to plan ahead. I am a planner. I plan each day, the night before. I planned the way I was going to have these kids by in vetro. I’m even a certified “Baby Planner”. So, let me help you plan.

Get yourself all hooked up with an app that will help you store each and every precious piece of whatever-that-is that your kid brings home from school. Believe me, some kids will actually cry if they see you tossing out their scrap-paper drawing of a chicken. “No Mom. That’s a cow!” Whatever.

Just keep it, in a way that will make everyone happy. No more clutter. No more tears. Meet Artkive.

The Artkive app sets you up with a no fail plan, so you can simply take a picture on your phone, and the app stores that image on a private cloud. At the end of the year Artkive will even send you a tangible printed book of all your little one’s pieces of… art.

Hear more from Dad & Artkive creator Jedd Gold on my podcast radio show. And after that, go to the app store & free yourself for the Summer.

Keep those memories going, by simply letting go...
