So, I think that it's probably best that I introduce myself, since I'm a new member of Today.com.

I'm Charlie, and I'm a former water systems specialist, having worked for the government for a number of years.

However, I chose to leave my role after wanting having the inclination and desire to pursue my own online venture, which I'll explain more about, and how it links to the yearly tradition that I hold dearly.

So what is the tradition that I hold so dearly, and one in which I teach my children about... Well it's quite simple, it's to learn a new skill or start one new project each year, whilst journaling the entire process.

Not only has this been a fantastic way for me to learn new skills over the years, but I've had the pleasure of seeing it help my children, with one in particular who has grown the same level of enthusasm for it.

How do I go about doing this, well I love using websites such as Udemy or Stackskills, which both cover a selection of topics, for example, you can learn to cook, or learn a new language, or a new programming language etc.

Ok, so how does this relate to my online venture?

Well, after leaving my job, I decided that my new project or learned skill was going to be part of my tradition, and so I began brainstorming ideas.

I wanted to create an online business of some kind, and realizing where my talents and skills lay, it was clear that I should probably begin a website that was in the water systems niche, or around that area of expertise.

Well, I created it, and it's called watersystemsguide.

We review all kinds of water systems, with some of our latest articles covering topics such as whole house water filter systems (link) and alkaline water ionizer machines (link).

With that being said, I hope that reading this will provide others with the same level of inspiration and even the posibility of adopting the same or a similar approach... Afterall, it's helped me and my children immeasurably.
