Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

Sometimes I say things to people with the hope that it makes me sound more

put-together, lovely, grace-filled, humble, organized, intelligent, and free.

When, in reality, I'm mostly

unpolished, disheveled, unpleasant, improper, awkward, unintentionally inconsiderate, slightly self-absorbed, complicated, unrefined, a bit foolish and uber-dependent.

But, what I've come to realize is that nobody wants to be friends with

Polly Perfect, Social Sally, Beautiful Betty, Charismatic Chrissy, or Jovial Jill.

They just don't.

At least not all the time.

People want to be friends with the real McCoy.

People want imperfect friends,

JUST.

LIKE.

THEM.

They don't want to be friends with someone who can do or say no wrong.

They want to be friends with

the hot messes, the crazy passionate ones, the frazzled, the dreamers, the fighters, the criers, the givers, the takers, the lovers, the YESers, the NOsayers, the patient ones, the yellers, the mindful ones and the endearing oblivious ones.

They want to be friends with the

mistake-makers and the journey-takers.

They want to be friends with those who are authentic and genuine.

You know, sometimes I say things to people with the hope that it may make me sound more like someone they would want in their life and to have a friendship with, but I'm no longer doing that.

Nope.

And because I've discerned that nobody wants to friends with perfect, perfect is no longer what I'm trying to be.

And, can you believe it?

When I stopped trying to be flawless, I unexpectedly became a bit more

put-together, lovely, grace-filled, humble, organized, intelligent, and free.

Ain't it funny how things work out?
