My son John had big hopes for his double digits birthday.
We were scheduled to head to New York City, but with the coronavirus spreading and a shelter and stay in place where we live, we had to get creative in making his birthday special. His teachers, principal, classmates and neighborhood friends teamed up and put together the most epic social distancing surprise ever - a Birthday Car Parade. Happy tears streamed down our faces as we watched the people we love and miss so much circle through our driveway with signs, streamers and more.
