It really is all about routine. To this day my kids are ready for bed at the same time because from the time they were sleeping through the night regularly, I had them on a very set bedtime routine. They know when I say clean up time, it means the start of bedtime. Brush the teeth, head upstairs, get PJs/bath done, read a book, tuck them in and then lights out! The only other suggestion I would give is when you are first transitioning your baby from your bed/room to their crib, placing a fitted sheet on their mattress that you first slept with for a few night will help make it much easier. That way they can still smell you and feel you are close by! When my now 4 year old has night terrors, I let he snuggle in my bed with me for just a few minutes, and then take her back to her bed with one of my sweatshirts to put on/snuggle with and turn on an extra night light. That seems to help tremendously
