My name is Ed and I am a single parent of three amazing children. I have an invention that has helped me in two ways; most importantly my invention adds a layer of safety to my bedroom (I know there are a lot of parents that have let their infants and toddlers sleep in their own beds). There is a hidden danger that everyone needs to be aware of and it has been my mission for the last four years to bring light to this. Infants and toddlers have been injured or worse (http://connecticut.cbslocal.com/2011/12/22/baby-dies-after-becoming-trapped-in-bed/#.UCrACd-56oQ.gmail) by becoming entrapped between the mattress and wall/headboard. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has even issued a warning about this (http://www.cpsc.gov//PageFiles/112793/5091.pdf). My invention (The Mattress Wedge) adds a layer of protection by closing the gap between the wall/headboard and mattress. More information can be found at www.buymattresswedge.com. I am hopeful The Today Show can help me spread the word before any more children are injured. In addition to the added safety, The Mattress Wedge helps to promote a better night's sleep by keeping the users pillow under their head and not behind the bed. No more shifting pillows when you sleep. No more "stuff" falling behind your bed. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions ed@mybedwedge.com
