Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

I did a thing today.

A thing quite out of my comfort zone.

You’d think for someone so “open” on the internet, sharing my real-life stories almost daily, I’d eat up the opportunity to word vomit on people in person.

But.

I’m.

An.

Anxious.

Nut.

And strangers, though small talk with ‘em is often bucket-filling for me, make me nervous.

Nervous that they’ll meet me, and I won’t live up to their expectations.

That they’ll meet me with no expectations, and I’ll be cause for them to lower ‘em further.

That my social awkwardness will irk them.

That they’ll notice not just my imposter syndrome, but self-confirm that I am, in fact, an imposter.

But guess what did happen when I took myself outta my hella comfortable comfort zone and threw myself into a situation that challenged me in more ways than one?

I rose to the occasion, and by that, all I mean, is that I SHOWED UP.

And that’s all I had to do.

It’s all I or any of us ever have to do —

show up for ourselves.

How can you show up for yourself today, tomorrow or the next day?
