Parents, you’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Or just as likely, we’ve got questions and you’ve got answers.

Those first few months, my wife and I got very little sleep. We weren't and won't be the only ones to go through this. Most of us parents, consider sleep a pipe dream. However, I can't count the number of times I went to sleep, or my wife did, only to lay there thinking about what we did "wrong" that day. "Did we screw up today", my wife would ask. My response was always the same; a resounding, "Not even close, babe". What we should have been doing, was sleeping. At the time, worry, organizing and planning out the next day was always our pillow talk. Instead of resting, our minds were racing. Then, the following day, as most days, we were zombies. One can only wonder, had we actually slept, would we have been more awake, more aware, dare I say, BETTER parents?

The answer is probably not. We're good parents in my opinion. But I wish we would have known, it was OKAY to sleep, without worry, without freaking out about which way we'd screw our kid up the following day.

So new parents? Take a dad's advice. Sleep. Sleep as much as you can.
