Working out has always been an outlet for me. Moving my body every day will continue to be a non-negotiable need that must be met in order for me to carry out my work, my parenting responsibilities, and everything else that makes life life.
When I was introduced to indoor cycling -- right around the time the wellness craze had hit its first "boom" -- my workout game changed completely. And not just for my body, but my mental state -- which was in desperate need of repair after battling over two years of postpartum depression.
Listening to the motivational speak from fit spin instructors while working out my entire body was thee ultimate form of self-improvement I didn't know I needed. Their larger-than-life-enthusiasm coupled with music so good you could dance was my saving grace to keeping myself in check when the burdens of parenting seemed impossible to carry.
More than anything, these fitness classes reminded me that I was still me after I became a mom. If you have yet to experience a cycling class, I encourage you to do so. You won't be disappointed. And you may just catch a glimpse of the old you that's been dying to resurface.
XOXO,
Ashley
