Most children will get bullied at some point in their lives, but it usually doesn’t last very long. In some cases, kids aren’t so lucky and it can go on for years. You don’t want your child to be tortured until they leave for college.

Maybe they won’t even get into a good college. It’s hard to keep your grades up when you’re being traumatized every day. Their future could be in your hands, so we’re going to examine a few things you can do to squish it for good.

1. Listening To Them

Your child might be ashamed to talk at first, but eventually they’ll need a shoulder to cry on. Before you start complaining to the school you’ll need to become their rock. It’s actually a lot harder than it sounds.

Never let your child feel like they’re being judged. You want them to be comfortable enough to open up about everything. Once you’ve got the full story it’s a lot easier to take action against those involved.

2. Talk To The School

Teachers are taught to watch out for bullying, but maybe they don’t know how serious it is. You’ll need to talk to them and it will become clear how much they know. Demand they put a stop to the bullying immediately.

There are a couple of people you can see at the school. The teacher and principal should know what is going on. Try speaking to the guidance teacher too, because they’ll try to keep a watchful eye on your child.

3. Keep A Bully Log

You should buy a notebook to use as a bully log. Talk to your child every day and write down every little incident. Keep in mind, once you start doing this it can become very upsetting and you’ll cry a lot.

The bully log can be used in a couple of different ways. You will be able to show the appropriate people all the incidents down to the last detail. It’s also easy to see if things are starting to get worse.

4. Contact The Parents

If you don’t know the parents of the bullies you shouldn’t attempt this. You’ll have no idea what you are walking into. Fortunately, there is a chance you’ll have bumped into them before in the past.

Explain the situation to them and if they’re good people they will talk to their children. The bullies might just need to be reeducated. Walk away immediately if they’re not going to take you seriously.

5. Seek Legal Advice

An Eric Ramos Law spokesperson says this should only be used as a last resort, but if you have exhausted all other options you can seek legal advice. It should hopefully never get to this stage.

There should be someone in the school system with the power to help your child. If they are being physically assaulted it’s slightly different. A lawyer will be able to jump in quicker to help out.

You Need To Put An End To It

Your child deserves to live an enjoyable life, so do anything you can to stop the bullying. Even if you have to keep knocking on a lot of doors, someone will eventually listen to you. Cross your fingers and pray it gets dealt with quickly.
