A little over a year ago, we brought our newborn son, Levi, home from the hospital. As new parents we wanted to keep a careful watch on him in his crib without having his crib in our room. As a new dad and an engineer I researched the pros and cons of a video baby monitor on google. I found discerning statistics on video baby monitors. 10 infants/toddlers have died due to strangulation by the baby monitor cord. This was due to the baby monitors being placed on, in and near the crib. Millions of baby monitors were recalled. In an attempt to solve this problem baby monitor manufacturers placed warnings on the box stating to keep baby monitors at least 3 feet from the crib – NOT A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM!
When I placed my baby monitor 3 feet from the crib on a shelf I could not see Levi in all parts of the crib. I could only see a portion of the crib. I also didn’t want to put holes in my new nursery walls to mount the monitor closer to the crib.
I decided to help solve the problem with a product of my own – VuSee, the Universal Baby Monitor Shelf. VuSee allows parents to mount their baby monitor safely out of reach while providing a complete view of the crib. Vusee is angled so your baby monitor can get the entire view of the crib. VuSee doesn’t require any tools or holes to mount. VuSee uses 3M command strips to mount to the wall, simply peel and stick. VuSee works with all baby monitors. VuSee is now sold online and with major retailers so parents around the world have a quick and SAFE solution for mounting their baby monitors.
