Summer is the perfect time to hit the open road and explore the diverse landscapes and vibrant cities of the United States. This year, we're taking you on an unforgettable road trip that starts in the sunny state of California, winds through the enchanting Southwest, and concludes in the lively city of Nashville. Along the way, we'll stop at some incredible destinations, including the Flagstaff High Country Motor Lodge in Arizona and the El Dorado Hotel & Spa in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Buckle up and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!

Starting Point: California Dreaming

Our journey begins in California, where you can enjoy the sun-soaked beaches, iconic cities, and breathtaking coastal highways. Whether you're starting in Los Angeles with its glamorous Hollywood vibes, San Francisco's charming streets and Golden Gate Bridge, or San Diego's laid-back beach scene, California offers the perfect kickoff for our summer road trip.

First Stop: Flagstaff High Country Motor Lodge, Arizona

After soaking up the Californian sun, head east towards the Grand Canyon State. Our first stop is Flagstaff, Arizona, nestled at the base of the San Francisco Peaks. Here, you'll find the Flagstaff High Country Motor Lodge, a retro-chic hotel that combines modern comforts with a nostalgic flair. You can relax with dips in the pool or even the sauna for a little wellness retreat. Located in the foothills of Lowell Observatory — home to the discovery of Pluto — High Country Motor Lodge is the world's first International Dark Sky Place.

Flagstaff is a gateway to some of the most stunning natural wonders in the country. Spend your days exploring the majestic Grand Canyon, hiking through the Coconino National Forest, or stargazing at the Lowell Observatory. In the evenings, relax at the Motor Lodge, where you can unwind by the outdoor fire pits or take a dip in the heated pool.

Don't forget to stop by The General Store before heading out on the road.

Second Stop: El Dorado Hotel & Spa, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Next, our road trip takes us to the cultural heart of the Southwest: Santa Fe, New

Mexico. The drive from Flagstaff to Santa Fe is a scenic one, with panoramic views of red rock landscapes and sprawling deserts. Upon arrival, check into the El Dorado Hotel & Spa, a luxurious retreat that captures the essence of Southwestern hospitality. After being on the road make sure to book time at Nidah Spa. They use a unique blend of modern and ancient healing techniques - guaranteed to relax and rejuvenate! You'll also be in great hands with the most attentive and kind staff with Jay Carrillo, Director of Guest Experience, leading the way.

Santa Fe is renowned for its rich history, vibrant arts scene, and unique adobe architecture. Explore the historic Plaza, visit the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, and indulge in the city's famed Southwestern cuisine. After a day of exploration, rejuvenate at the El Dorado's full-service spa or enjoy a sunset cocktail on the rooftop terrace.

Final Destination: Nashville, Tennessee

The final leg of our summer road trip leads us to the musical heartbeat of America: Nashville, Tennessee. As you journey eastward, you'll pass through the vast plains and rolling hills of Texas and Arkansas, experiencing the changing landscapes of the heartland.

Nashville, known as Music City, offers an electric atmosphere filled with live music, delicious Southern cuisine, and rich cultural experiences. Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, catch a show at the Grand Ole Opry, and explore the vibrant honky-tonks along Broadway. Nashville's welcoming spirit and lively energy make it the perfect place to conclude our epic road trip.

Road Trip Tips

  • Pack Smart: Bring essentials like snacks, water, sunscreen, and a first-aid kit. Don’t forget your camera to capture those memorable moments! I even like to send myself postcards from different stops. It's fun to be reminded of road trip moments!
  • Stay Flexible: While it's good to have a plan, be open to detours and spontaneous adventures. Sometimes the best experiences are the unexpected ones.
  • Enjoy the Journey: The beauty of a road trip is in the journey itself. Take your time, soak in the scenery, and make the most of every stop.

This summer, embark on a road trip that offers the perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and vibrant city life. From California's stunning coastlines to Nashville's musical soul, this journey promises unforgettable memories and endless adventure. Happy travels!
