One of my favorite memories growing up was going on long road trips with my family. As we rounded the Chattanooga, TN mountains to visit relatives in Georgia, I became increasingly more excited for the summer events ahead. Most recently, while attending my husband’s family reunion in Atlanta, Georgia, I had the opportunity to give my children a taste of my Georgia summer experience. This was my first visit to downtown Atlanta. The downtown Atlanta scene had big city flare and southern charm.
From my observation and weekend experience, downtown Atlanta is a wonderful place to visit and kid friendly. There are great activities to indulge in while visiting downtown Atlanta.
Splash Pad: The first kid-friendly event that we observed as we strolled through CENTENNIAL OLYMPIC PARK was the splash pad, which ideally provides easy and accessible entertainment for children.
Live Music: During our weekend visit, there was a live music event happening in the park. The vibe was festive and fun, and created an authentic soundtrack for locals and tourists.
Georgia Aquarium: The Georgia Aquarium is one of the largest most robust aquariums that I have ever visited. The venue is the largest of its kind in the western hemisphere with six galleries leading to a path of more than 60 exhibits that tell a global water story designed to inspire, entertain, and educate.
Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN: The Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN is an amazing hotel with beautiful amenities and impeccable service. The hotel is divided into two towers and creates a resort experience in the middle of downtown Atlanta. Steps away from the hotel are numerous attractions that are ideal for a family vacation. The top notch service and customer service is ideal for both travelers and locals to indulge in. My family had a great experience.
There are great expectations that come along with vacationing as a family. There is nothing more gratifying than seeing our kids happy and excited.
