My daughter wanted to help me get ready for my night out with friends this past weekend.
I let her come into the bathroom with me as I put on my make-up, and I taught her all about eye liner and blush.
She followed me into my closet where we picked out three possible outfits before landing on the PERFECT one.
The girl talk was flowing. I knew I’d remember this moment forever.
I tried to play a sappy Dave Barnes song to commemorate the moment but she told me, “Stop! I don’t want to start crying.”
She proceeded to turn on some of her own upbeat tunes with my phone.
I don’t always relish in these motherhood moments.
So often, I say no to make-up or hair tutorials simply because I have a schedule to keep.
When I was all ready for my night out, she told me I looked fabulous and proceeded to take selfies of us.
I don’t always get dressed up. I don’t always notice special motherhood moments.
But this night, I got both!
And I have selfies to prove it!
