  1. Aggressive programs are going to affect the child

The children who like to watch aggressive programs are going to adopt these traits and practice this aggression on their siblings in the absence of their parents. According to a famous social psychologist, Albert Bandura, children store whatever they see on television. The child who spends most of his time watching aggressive cartoons, wresting or boxing is most likely to model these things on other children.

2. The kids who spend more time watching TV lack interest in socialization

This is again another serious issue which parents usually consider as a trivial thing. It has been proved from the results of various researches that kids who spend more time watching TV are likely to isolate and they lack interest in socialization. These children lack social manners and etiquettes and they also don’t share their problems and issues with their parents in later stages of life as well.

3. Children who watch more TV live in the world of fantasy

Children who spend more time watching TV live in the world of imagination. It becomes very difficult for them to accept reality in later stages of their life. Their thoughts always contradict with the reality which creates confusion and conflict among them and affect their personality in a negative way. These children negate reality because they have never learnt to deal with things in a realistic way because of their parents’ negligence.

4. Don’t watch tragic TV programs when your kids are around

Parents are also quite careless because they watch any kind of program in the presence of their kids. Avoid watching sad and tragic programs, as these programs affect kids and they think too much about the negative things which becomes their habit and then it becomes very difficult for them to hope for positive things. Watch those programs which are age appropriate and which are positive for the development for your kids, such as, programs and cartoons with nice morals and lessons.

Aforementioned points explain the role of TV on child development. The kids shouldn’t spend more than one hour in front of TV because it affects their eyesight. Also, if you allow your kids to watch TV then continuously monitor what your child is watching because child’s mind is blank and he/she readily picks whatsoever is shown on TV. Aggressive programs affect children in a negative way; these kids also display aggressive behaviors in school and society. A little attention can save your kids developing negative traits.
