Pro tip: If your husband/life partner isn't big on dressing up in themed costumes, try something that basically allows him to wear his work clothes.
Store-bought Batman and Robin costumes, improvised Batgirl + Dad in a suit jacket and tie = Alfred the Butler. (And, he actually loved it.)
