This class of 2020 may have begun their lives following the sadness of September 11th but they have risen up and shown how kindness wins. I want to celebrate what an amazing and kind young woman my daughter, Julia, has become. I also want to let her know that even during these trying times that she is graduating high school in, her future is still so bright.
While working a part time job, she keeps stellar grades (4.8 GPA) while also playing on her school golf team all four years and has managed to amass almost 700 service hours. Many of her hours have been during her work through Girl Scouts, centered around helping children with special needs. During the teen years when many girls are overly concerned with their looks, Julia has thought about others in need and has donated her hair eight times. She is always willing to lend her time and help to others who may need it.
Thank you for giving her father and me a platform to celebrate all that our daughter has become. We can’t wait to see what her future holds! Next year it’ll be FSU, after that, the world is hers!
