Quick note to all the mamas and daddies and grandmas and grandpas who are worried that their kiddos aren’t getting the full summer experience because they aren’t going to camp or taking a vacation or doing craft projects.
The kids are fine, y’all.
Are they fed? Then stop worrying.
They’re fine.
Popsicles count as hydration.
Swimming pools and sprinklers count at bathing.
PBS counts as education.
They’re fine. Promise.
Camps filled up months ago, vacations are expensive, and complicated craft projects turn otherwise good parents into muttering fools with a big mess to clean up.
Normal, boring, nothing special days are totally fine. We all grew up on them and look how great we are.
The kids are fine. Now go. Those popsicles aren’t going to eat themselves.
