What do I want for 2021? I hope my kids keep being each other's best friends. They don't have anyone else to play with so they've become closer over the last 9 months. Talking more and playing together, inventing games and just general goofiness. It started out with a lot of sighs and a feeling of putting up with the other. But now they seek each other out. They don't have all the same interests but they've figured out how to take turns doing things the other likes. And then in the next breath they're mad at each other. I don't care. I tell them they don't have to like each other but they have to love each other. So be mad and then walk it off and work it out. I'm grateful they have each other in a time when they can't go play with their other friends like they used to. And while I'm a 'play on the floor' parent, that only works for so long, for any of us. So if there is a silver lining in all of this *sweeps hands around at everything* it's that my kids are better friends to each other. This is what I want to bring into 2021 and beyond.
