The one motherhood transition that no one warns you about:
the coffee table
It’s a delightful time when what was once a beautiful, hand painted piece of furniture becomes a dumping ground for random game parts, necessary LEGO pieces, and the bits and bobs of leftover magic tricks.
It becomes a long-term care facility for cups and bowls.
It becomes a bookshelf.
It becomes a balancing act for fragile technology and a safe spot for things that cannot be lost.
It becomes a landing pad for paper fighter jets and origami fails.
It’s suddenly now everyone’s footstool.
I didn’t even know we owned an electronic metronome. But if you need one, you know where to look.
Hang in there, y’all. xo
