It’s officially summer break and it’s time to go outside and have fun! My children and I are very active, especially in the warm summer months, and I have always wanted to compile all of our summer adventures on one list, so I am very excited to also share it with you! Most children love a visual they can follow and I am the kind of mom that loves checking off lists, so it’s a win win for both of us!

Play is so essential for children of all ages and is imperative for overall development, social and communication skills, and emotional and mental wellbeing, so please aim to shut off devices and engage in a type of play that is imaginative, creative, and interactive!

#PutYourMediaAwayAndPlay

As a play therapist, I recommend that children get a minimum of 30 minutes of free play a day and then more play sprinkled throughout their day in a more structured environment. It’s summer, so it’s time to let your hair down, let loose, get rid of inhibitions, and let everyone blow off some steam! They are only children once and this is their time to play, play, play!

My Summer Bucket List includes indoor activities, outdoor activities, cooking activities, arts and crafts, learning activities, nighttime fun, sensory and movement activities, adventures around the town, some activities that give back, and even some family bonding activities!
