Do you ever look at the other moms' kids and wonder: What am I doing wrong that my kids don’t act like that?
The moms whose kids move through the day tantrum-free, holding hands, and following all the rules.
The moms who can go to lunch with friends while their kids sit there smiling and eating, quietly coloring like they aren’t even there.
The moms who can take their children on an outing and not hover over them preparing for the worst.
The moms whose kids seem well-adjusted and don’t have problems separating or behaving in a classroom.
The moms whose babies sleep in the car seat the entire time they’re out.
Because in my house, we have fussy babies and mess everywhere.
I move through the day with at least one of my kids crying on loop ALL THE TIME.
When I go out for lunch with friends and my children, it’s not fun for anyone.
I don’t always have a smile on my face.
Some days I find myself praying for bedtime.
Most days I lose my cool.
But guess what? So do those moms who seem to float through motherhood.
We all feel like we’re the only ones struggling,
but we’re not alone.
Every kid and parent is different, but we're alike because none of us are perfect.
We all have bad moments.
But if our hearts burst when we see their faces,
if we wake up each day and try to do better,
we’re good moms.
