There once was a school teacher who took on a pandemic. That caused so much confusion and chaos and worry inside her!

She swallowed her fears to ease those of her students. I know why she swallowed her fears. Perhaps she’s a superhero.

She kept educating the kids to ease their fears. That wriggled and jiggled and creeped around inside them.

She swallowed her nerves to tend to theirs. I know why she took on a pandemic. Because someone needed to.

There once was a school teacher who took on a pandemic. Imagine that! She took on a pandemic AND took kids under her wing.

She taught the kids to keep them progressing. She kept them progressing to keep them growing. That growing that happens inside them!

She loved them good to make them feel safe. I don’t know why she took on a pandemic. Perhaps she had no choice.

There once was a school teacher who kept a student log. What an amazing human, to keep a log!

She kept a log to keep track.
She kept track to keep everyone healthy. She kept everyone healthy to keep everyone in school. School, the place, that for her, no longer made her as feel as fulfilled and happy as it once did.

She stayed in the field to stay a light for others. I don't know why she’s not valued. It’s not even a perhaps that she should be.

There once was a school teacher who took on corona. She just opened her heart and swallowed any hesitation!

She swallowed the hesitation to be with the kids.
She had to be with the kids to teach them about champions. She was their champion and reminded them of the ones they are innately

She swallowed her pride to be by their side. She stayed by their side for the entire ride. A ride that broke her!

She swallowed her opinions to honor those of others.

I don't know why she took on a pandemic, but we’re all damn lucky she did.

There once was a school teacher who knew she had to do it but didn’t know how.
She didn’t know how but she knew she must.

She knew she must so they could learn.
She knew they had to learn so they could get brighter.
The kind of brighter that shines right in front of her.

She swallowed her expectations to alleviate those placed on them.

I don't know why she stayed by their side but I’m really freakin’ grateful she did.

and she didn’t have to,

but she did, and still is,

and she deserves

your respect,

mad appreciation,

a crapton of accolades

and a sh*t-ton more pay.

TEACHERS EVERYWHERE: I see you. People see you. We don’t know how you do it, but we’re really freakin’ lucky and blessed that you do. Please know that so very many of us parents value you and the role you play in our children’s lIves more than we’ll ever be able to adequately tell or show you.
