There’s something about January 1st that kicks my rear end into gear.
I’m packing up decorations efficiently, drinking lots of water, and even finishing a wine cork bulletin board that has been in progress for five years.
But I’m also sneak eating two cookies so I don’t need to share with my kids. And despite good “putting on a sports bra this morning” intentions, I know I’m not getting on the elliptical. Oh and that bathroom could be a lot cleaner, but it won’t be. Not today. No one is coming over.
I’m planning on starting a lot in 2019. And, perhaps more importantly, finishing a lot. But I’m also planning on continuing to go ahead living my life in a realistic, imperfect way. In a way, I’m resolving to stay somewhat the same. That feels right to me, not to mention quite attainable.
So if your resolutions are more like goals, and your plans allow for some flexibility, we are in this together. Here’s to a 2019 full of exciting adventures, mundane errands, uproarious laughter, temper tantrums, sweet hugs and serious side eye. It’s all going to happen, let’s lean into it and enjoy the ride.
Cheers!
