Tonight we practiced social distancing
We made a sign and we showed up for our local Publix employees, the helpers as I like to call them because they’ve been showing up for us during this scary time with late nights, long shifts and dealing with some customers that are really scared all while being away from their own families
We showed up a few minutes after they closed and held it up in the parking lot for them to see, they were kind enough to come to the glass door and we shouted “Thank you” from the top of our lungs
In a time where everything feels so out of our control, we can still control how we respond and kindness and compassion is always the right answer
While it’s great to have our kids new school schedules filled with academics, let’s not forget to add in a time for kindness for all those working with the public because the truth is the world needs more of that than math right now
