Bringing home multiples is a whole different ballgame. Two mouths to feed. Two sets of diapers -- all day, every day. But the joy is also twice as nice. I am ten years in now but I still remember a few things that surprised me on day one.

Poopy diapers - no one ever told me that until your baby starts eating solids, what comes out of them will be equally unsolidified. So those first few weeks can be a little (lot) messy and it's normal. I tell all my friends with newborns that you are truly a mom when your little one has had his or her first poopy explosion - lots of laundry.

Waiting Game - with multiples someone always has to wait, you won't always have the ability to do man-to-man coverage and will move to a zone defense. My pediatrician gave me great advice. Let them wait a minute or two. You know that person at the ATM machine who huffs and puffs that the line isn't moving quickly enough? They were never forced to wait.

Noise is your friend - the desperation to get sleep shouldn't be underestimated. Sleep deprivation was the hardest part of the newborn experience for me but this tip paid dividends later. Make sure the house or apartment isn't dead quiet for baby nap time and bedtime. A baby/child that learns to sleep with regular household noise will always be able to do so.
