Never underestimate the simple joy of a quiet moment with yourself. That first satisfying sip of coffee in the morning. A magical nature hike. A few minutes of journaling. A project, a nap, a bath, a book.
Too many of us can't stand being alone. Are afraid of the thoughts that will surface or the unhealthy habits that trail on our heels. But we must. Get comfortable with ourselves. Dig deep into our thoughts and experiences and accept the lessons they are here to teach us.
Take just a moment and sit with yourself. Strip off the masks and smiles you put on for the world. Relax all the muscles in your face. Breathe. Just breathe.
Let your own company bring you stillness. Comfort. Joy.
Yes, even joy.
