I've been home with my kids for over 15 years. I know, I'm lucky- very lucky. I've been there for everything my kids did in school, and then, later, as we began homeschooling. I know that being a stay at home Mom isn't for evryone, but it was exactly right for me.

Except now, as we have graduated one child to being a successful business owner herself (at age 20!!) , and starting my son's Junior year of (home) high school, I'm finding myself in the position that I need to start bringing some money in to help our family. The thing is, I am still needed at home- we do home school co-op a few days a week, plus teaching and loads of volunteer work plus the running of my entire family. and I was at a loss of what to do. I had no interest in doing direct sales- it's just not for me. Working part time in retail would still have me committing to a time schedule when my schedule is often unpredictable. Plus, if I was going to work, I wanted to work towards something, not just put in time.

In my case, I decided to get my notary public license and take Mark Wills online course on how to become a loan signing agent as a beginning to a hopefully new career in Real Estate. I love houses, poking around in other peoples houses, and the thought of helping someone else find their dream home makes me all happy and joyful. However the path to a Real Estate Agent can take a while. Becoming a notary and a loan signing agent, I can work around my schedule and make great money on the side.

But here's a really cool thing that has come of this. My kids see me as not just taking any old job, but taking on training that will help me start a new career. I'm not just Mom or Teacher or Wife, but as a fledgling Real Estate professional. They saw me take a passion of mine and start making it into my business- and shows them that you are never too old to reinvent yourself.
