Many parents don't want their daughters wearing makeup because they think their daughters will look older than they actually are. As a father I don't want her to attract attention that she's not ready to handle. Others simply want their daughters to wait until they're old enough to understand how to properly apply make-up and take care of their skin.

However, it's normal for girls to want to wear make-up. Even if your daughter has always been a tom-boy, expect her to take an interest before she leaves the tween years behind.

When considering makeup parents should consider organic or cruelty free products to begin with such as from beauty companies like

Jennifer Bradley Skincare

Codex Beauty Labs

Juvia's Place

Don't automatically dismiss the idea of makeup. For girls, it's almost a coming of age milestone.
