My baby is only 1, but I dream about traveling with her the way my mom travels with me.

Almost every year, my mom and I go on a trip.


Some of the most memorable trips include walking the Camino, going on a yoga treat in Southern Spain, and living in a Riad in Morocco.

There is always so much excitement leading up to these trips. We spend months planning. Mapping out the must-see sites. Googling the local restaurants with the best reviews. Learning everything we can about the faraway place.


It's always an amazing time visiting these new places.

We build unforgettable memories and our bond strengthens.

Moreover, with every trip, I come back a different person. More open-minded. More curious.


I want my daughter to have these same experiences.

Here are the top 3 reasons why I think you should travel with your kids. They're the reasons I'm grateful my mom has traveled with me all these years.

Traveling exposes kids to new foods, cultures, languages, and people. We live in a small town. Traveling will broaden her perspective on life beyond her familiar world. She'll develop a taste for new things, greater empathy, and an appreciation for what she has.

Traveling will develop adaptablity and increase tolerance for discomfort. We live in a first world country. We plan on traveling to third world countries with her so she is exposed to third world problems. It'll force her to step out of her comfort zone and be more flexible.

3) Develops Creativity

Being in unfamiliar areas opens your mind up to more opportunities and possibilities. I know that by visiting new places, she'll come across many ideas that will help her in life. Whether it's a creative solution to a problem, a new way of looking at things - it'll all help her grow as a person.
