I always joke that I married my very own “James Bond,” since he is a Federal Agent who does love his martinis shaken and not stirred but behind his tough exterior he has a sweet gentle soul. Shortly after we met we talked all about our desire to have a family one day and shortly after we were married we decided to try right away. Well like many things in life, it did not go as planned. Suffering from infertility and pregnancy loss can be really hard on a marriage. I feel beyond blessed that during those hard times looking for answers, or when we lost not one but 2 children in the second trimester that we was my rock. He let me cry on his shoulder or held me as I cried to sleep, made sure I was always eating enough when I was too sad to eat and even planned a girls night out for me to cheer me up. In those moments and countless others I knew not only he was the one for me but I knew he would be an incredible dad.

Fast forward a few years later after losing Charlie and Lena we were blessed with Landon and Elle. James continued to be my super hero but now he was also the kids super hero. Sure he would change diapers and read stories to them but he has always been the “Fun” dad. He takes the kids for night swims, catches crabs by the shore and lets them occasionally have ice cream before dinner for a special treat. The joy, smiles and excitement they have when he comes home is priceless. I knew 13 years ago he would be an amazing dad but seeing it daily it melts my heart.
