Y’all make me feel like I can do anything.
The you all who are on the same hamster wheel as I.
Spinning the same circle and all your wheels with the same hope I have which is:
To be good human and to raise the same.
Y’all make me feel like I can do anything.
The you all who are
messy,
imperfect,
and all-over-the-place,
while you are,
quite literally,
all over the place—running your kids from here to there and there back here and then from here back there.
Y’all make me feel like I can do anything.
But not have to do it perfectly.
Because neither do you.
And there’s something about
traveling the same circles,
with our different circuses,
that
just
feels
comforting.
An easement of sorts,
knowing that I’m not parenting on boat alone in the middle of the ocean,
but rather in a sea full of others,
who are trying to stay afloat,
and keep their kids happy,
just
like
me.
Y’all make me feel like I can do anything.
The you all who are out there visibly doing everything and anything you can to
1) get life right
and
2) raise your children right
even though you continually get some (a lot of) stuff wrong.
Y’all…
we’re all on the same track,
each on our own path,
but supporting each other with our
mere presence.
And to those on my track
and in my world,
I just want to say,
‘thank you.’
